- NOTES:
- THE REC CENTRE – FIELD # 1
- Food and drinks – Available throughout the park and the designated Food & Drink areas. We can also invite Food trucks.
- Entertainment – Entertainment is available throughout the park.
- Assistants – if we think that we can organize whole tournament on our own, we are wrong! We need to have reliable assistants that are going to help us with organizing the court, making sure everyone plays by the rules, keeping the correct scores, and much much more.
- Prizes – We need to define exactly what percentage will go for covering the prizes. Also we need to find sponsors who are will give us free copies of their product to tournament participants.
- Promotion – Make sure we have a great promotion strategy. Employ everything we know about marketing and ask everyone we know to spread word about our upcoming tournament. That being said, make sure we start our promotion early so we have enough time for promotion and so that everyone can organize and plan their weekends ahead.
- NOTES:
- Boards – official cornhole board dimension is 24 x 48 inches. We should have 2 boards for each match. If 10 teams are attending our championship then make sure to have at least 22 boards. 10 for playing and 2 as a backup if some get broken. Extrapolate for the exact number of teams.
- Bags – standard dimension of a cornhole bag is 6 by 6 inches. It should be made out of sturdy materials such as canvas. Each team should have 4 bags. When playing against each others, each team must have different bag colors. We can lower our equipment costs by creating our own cornhole bags. for cheap.
- Score boards need to be clearly visible from any part of the cornhole field.
- Tape for marking pitching boxes – pitch box is a place from which cornhole players throw bags. Its located on the left and right side of a cornhole board. Make sure to clearly draw the foul line on each pitch box.
- Lawn Chairs – Lawn chairs will be available for rent at the Tent/Lawn Chair Rental Headquarters.
.
- NOTES:
- Bag goes directly in the hole = 3 points
- Bag was on the surface and ended in the hole after being hit by another bag = 3 points
- Bag stays on cornhole board surface = 1 point
- Bag is almost in the hole (hanging a bit in) = 1 point
- Bag hanging on the edge of a cornhole board but not touching the ground = 1 point
- Bag is on the board but is touching the ground (this bag needs to be removed before continuing the game) = 0 points
- Also if a bag is on the board but is touching a bag that is already off the surface = 0 points
But there is one exception to this. If a bag that is off the surface can be removed with another bag then the bag that was previously touching the bag that was on the surface is not touching it anymore. So 1 point goes to the hanging bag.
Foul bags – the cancellation of scoring when a player breaks a rule. Foul bags simply don’t carry any points. Basically, if a bag is not in the hole or on the board (while not touching the ground) it is considered to be foul bag and gets 0 points. If a bag is touching the ground but still on the surface board, if it’s not on the board at all and if the players have stepped on a foul line the bag is considered to be foul! If a foul bag moved non-foul bag into a foul zone (for example, off the board), the bag that was previously non-foul should be returned to the original position and the foul bag needs to be removed.
Once all the bags are thrown, the round ends.
