DEAN HOLMEN

Do you remember the classic sounds of Ricky Skaggs, Hank Williams, George Jones, and many other traditional country music legends of the past and present? The award winning team of Dean Holmen & Tim Schneeberger have used their inspiration from all these legends in his song writing and has put them all together on Dean’s new CD, Keep it Country, for your listening pleasure.

Dean’s music looks back on a time when we listened to the radio for beautiful, traditional, country music. The world was safe, a friend was a friend, and life in general was great.

So let Dean put you in the time machine and take you back to some down-to-earth, traditional country music the way we remember.

DIANE BERRY

Diane Berry was born into a musical family, The Holman Family. Born in Texas, she grew up in a little town in Arkansas. With her Mom, Dad, sister and brother, The Holman Family had a weekly radio show on Saturday afternoons on KCAB Radio out of Dardanelle, Arkansas. At the age of thirteen, Diane learned to play the guitar and became a member of the family band on stage. Throughout her years in Arkansas, Diane has performed as a solo artist and also with a band. She decided that Nashville was the place to be and moved there in the early ‘80’s. She was a guitar player/singer in one of the shows in the Opryland Park. That fall, Roy Acuff asked her to be his guest on the Grand Ole’ Opry. With the response she received after that performance, Diane worked the Grand Ole’ Opry for twenty eight years with different artists such as: Jeannie Seely, Johnny Russell, Grandpa Jones, Jan Howard, Skeeter Davis, Jim Ed Brown, Charlie Louvin and Johnny Counterfit. Diane also has a large fan base that spans all over the United States and Europe. Her music is played in Australia, England, Holland, Norway and Germany. Diane was once quoted as saying, “I sing all kinds of music….it just all comes out country!” Diane is also an accomplished songwriter. Connie Smith recorded the gospel song “Take My Hand” on her last album that Diane wrote to honor her mother.

TINA PATTERSON – WHITE

Tina Patterson-White came from humble beginnings in Dyer County, TN, where she grew up on traditional country music, influenced at a very young age by Loretta Lynn. Singing has always been a part of Tina’s heart and soul, as she has been singing she she was in the third grade. Through the years, she has built a large following of fans and continues to follow her dream of being a country music entertainer.

Her first appearance on the Music City Hayride in Nashville, Tennessee was during the 2019 season,  As a result of her very large reception for her inaugural show,  in January, 2020. she was invited to be a charter member of the Music City Hayride by CEO and Founder of the Music City Hayride, Dean Holmen,  which she readily accepted.

She became friends with Allen Karl, the Founder and CEO of Century II Records, and as a result of her reception and stage presence as well as her immense talent onstage, he signed her to a contract with Century II Records before she was to  perform for a show at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in 2021. She continues to entertain audiences far and wide, and as a result of her success as a recording artist, she has garnered three platinum records for two of her own recordings with Century II as well as one duet with country artist Marty Dunn.

JERRY SCHMITT

It’s appropriate that country singer Jerry Schmitt’s song “I Don’t Hurt As Much As I Used To” became a No.1 hit on the Country Roots Chart.

Not only doesn’t Schmitt hurt, the future ahead looks downright rosy for the town of Cleveland musician. But that doesn’t make for country hits, especially the kind of country that Schmitt sings. His brand of country is built on heartbreak, drinking, pickup trucks and honky tonks.

The No. 1 hit on the Country Roots Chart in February is a direct result of the song, from his “100 Miles” album recorded in 2008, being played by independent radio stations across the world. And that, in turn, has been the direct result of his signing last fall a contract with Colt Records of Nashville.

“I know it seems like a long time (since the song was recorded),” Schmitt said. “But to get a song played on the radio as an unsigned artist is almost impossible. Having the record contract opened those doors.”

All together, those pieces of good news has given a turbo boost to Schmitt’s long and steady career. “This is the turning point where we take it to the next level,” he said. “We’re really making a push to take it to a larger audience, and we’re hoping to be an opening act with an established national act.”
