canada's all - star show team

Show Skiing has been called the most entertaining discipline in the sport of water skiing. It is fast – moving, exciting , graceful, and most of all, fun to watch. Virtually all aspects of the sport – including barefoot, jumping, slalom, tricks, and knee boarding – are choregraphed into one amazing grand performance.

trick

spectacular trick skiing

In Trick, the skier is on one small short board to perform flips and spins. Each trick has a set point value and cannot be repeated. The skier is given two 20 second attempts to score as many points as possible. One pass, the skier will perform tricks such as flips, spins, and wake tricks. The other pass, the skier typically performs tricks holding the rope with their foot. Each skier is scored on their completion of each trick and the score is the grand total of all tricks performed within the time limit

jump

spectacular jumping

In JUMP, the skier is on two skis and hits a ramp which ranges from 5ft-6ft tall. Each division has their own maximum boat speed. Skiers will perform a cut towards the ramp to gain as much additional speed as possible. Their longest distance is scored. Top women competitors jump more than 170 feet using a 5.5ft ramp height and top Men competitors jump more that 230 feet using a 6ft ramp height.

slalom

spectacular slalom

In slalom, the skier uses one ski to navigate a preset course, consisting of 6 buoys, entrance, and exit gates. The skier must pass through both gates and round all 6 buoys in a zigzag path to successfully complete the pass. The speed is constant through the course and after each successfully completed pass, the speed increases by 3kph until the maximum speed for the division is reached. Therefore, the rope is shortened after each successfully completed pass, until the skier misses the gate or a buoy. The skier who rounds the most buoys, wins. The best skiers do not miss until the rope is shorter than the distance from the boat to the buoy.

barefoot

barefoot performance

Barefoot skiing is water skiing behind a motorboat without the use of water skis, commonly referred to as “barefooting”. Barefooting requires the skier to travel at higher speeds than conventional water skiing (30-45mph/50-70kmh).

Up to three boats per day will be made available, if necessary. A Music City Manitoba Pass & Reservations required.
